Day 1 – Packing and Leaving

So we left Columbia today. We packed a truck, hitched our car and left.

This morning at 7am we drove about ten miles away to pick up our 10′ truck. No name has been decided yet, but we do have a nice picture depicting the underground railroad in Ontario on the side. We spent all morning and the early part of the afternoon filling the truck with everything we own. We took care of a few other things, got our car hitched to a car carrier and actually got on the interstate at about 6:15pm. After some rain, some hills and some bad traffic we reached Arden, North Carolina. Now we’re in a Comfort Inn with a country concert playing outside somewhere nearby. It’s a smoking room but at this point we’re tired enough that it really doesn’t matter. We’ll be off early tomorrow morning to drive all day.

In the meantime, here are a few photos from our day:

  1. So maybe all the rain on your journey is designed to help prepare you for Portland. Thanks for the update.
