Voodoo, Ellie and Car Karma

A Voodoo Dozen is always the way to go. In addition to a Fruit Loops donut, we also have a Coco Puffs option to try tomorrow.

The consensus was this was a cotton candy flavored donut. Too sugary to tell for sure.

The amazing Ellie is officially in town and with us for the entire weekend. We welcomed her to PDX with a prompt visit to Voodoo Donuts and picked up a Voodoo dozen. We carried the ubiquitous pink box through town to the Ecotrust Farmers’ Market, adding cherries, strawberries and raspberries to our load before heading home. After dropping off the recently purchased food items, we embarked for a meal at Laughing Planet. On the way to 21st we happened by our car and noticed significant damage to it, including, but not limited to, a missing hubcap, a bent hub, popped tire and bent axle. A police officer had left his business card and a message to call him. We discussed the possible scenarios over dinner and returned to the scene to take photographs for insurance purposes. A man living in the apartment building across from our parking spot came out and informed us that a previous night, a drunk driver hit our car as well as three others before promptly being arrested. With this new information, we headed back to the apartment and feasted on donuts while Mao spent half an hour discussing the situation with the aforementioned police officer. All in all an adventurous night for Ellie to arrive on. Tomorrow’s agenda includes gorging ourselves on food carts, a trip to Cargo and Powell’s, and hopefully dining at Hot Pot City, if I can successfully convince Mao that it would be advantageous to do so.

  1. A big Hello to the Amazing Ellie! The menu at the Laughing Planet is very tempting, indeed. Hope you get to go to Hot Pot City. And so sorry about Gray Street….
