Uwajimaya, Reason Enough to Visit Beaverton

cartoon crazy fun

We returned to Uwajimaya Market yesterday. Unlike our first trip, I wandered the aisles less gap-mouthed and bug-eyed, a list of items to locate in hand, determined to not be overwhelmed by the bright colors and obscene number of noodles available. Mao was very patient carrying the basket as I squeaked over the availability of fried tofu, soba, mirin and other staples for our United Nations of a food pantry at home. We left with a bounty of fresh produce, overly processed packaged food stuffs and condiments aplenty.

My desire to visit Osaka will for now have to be quelled by slurping bowls of Osaka udon soup.
